Need some help from my fellow trollers
#1
I'm haveing serious problems with keeping my lures down at high speeds. The planers i've been using are just too much for the tackle I have, so that's not going to work. I don't want to run 200 yards of steel topper, I think that's rediculous. I use Bonito lures and I want to get them to dive and stay down at over 10 knotts and not have to worry about the planer disengageing or anything like that. I also know how physics work. You can put a 30 or 40 ounce lead on top of your leader, but eventually, at high speed, it's going to work it's way back to the top. That's a hell of alot of wieght anyways. Is anyone using any other tactic that keeps the lures down at high speed? Help me out guys. You have to be running deep and fast to get those big daddies, or else you'll be getting peanut Wahoo the entire time.
