December Steelheading
#1
High water on the Salmon River has brought in more fresh steelies - 1500+cfs all week is just what we needed to sparkem' up. I enjoy drifting the higher water- it makes the fish more aggressive and less weary. We can also cover the entire river, including the mid-lower river where the fish are less pressured. It's a great ride, no rocks and the fish are safe from the lifters. The water is scheduled to drop to 750cfs tonight which is about medium level- perfect for shore anglers and driftboaters alike. December looks like it's starting off with ideal conditions, lets hope it continues this way. Let's also pray for mild weather to keep action hot.
