Wilson Lake, Ks Dec 7
#1
I managed to get on the water for awhile yesterday. Temperature is holding at around 40 degrees. Most of the fish and shad I found were holding on the fast breaks just off the river channel between 25 and 40 feet. I caught several keeper walleye and a couple of small stripers in the Lucas park area, I was fishing live shad but tried my luck at jigging a hopkins 1 oz. spoon with good success. They seemed to hit the spoon better than the bait. I am ready for some ice fishing and with the forecast for next week it should start to freeze in the backs of the coves at least. With the striper population in Wilson at this time I am looking forward to some excellent ice fishing there, Cheney should be awesome too, now if mother nature would just give us the ice!
