Online Hunting License Applications a Popular Choice
#1
The number of hunters submitting applications over the internet continues to increase each year. In 2004, the North Dakota Game and Fish Department received more than 37 percent of all hunting-related lottery applications via the agency Web site.
The bulk of online activity is attributed to deer applicants. Through Dec. 3, the department received 153,273 deer applications, with 58,710 (38 percent) submitted online.
Overall, hunters submitted more than 79,400 applications online this year, compared to 57,700, or 31 percent, in 2003.
The following table shows the percentage of applications submitted over the internet since 2001. (*Not complete as deer hunters apply for remaining licenses.) Applications submitted over the Internet. Species 2001 2002 2003 2004 Spring Turkey 10 % 21 % 29 % 36 % Moose, Elk,
