Boat owners are reminded that 2005 is the first year of the new three-year registration period, and notices for renewals were recently mailed out.
In addition, boat registrations can now be renewed online at the North Dakota Game and Fish Department Web site., discovernd.com/gnf. To renew a boat registration, click on the "register a boat" link on the left side of the homepage.
Also, persons buying a new or used watercraft can register online and generate a 10-day temporary permit that is valid until the registration is processed.
The new three-year registration period begins Jan. 1, 2005, and runs through Dec. 31, 2007. All boat registrations with a red decal expire Dec. 31, 2004.
Boat owners who do not receive a renewal notice by mid-December should contact the game and fish department at 701-328-6300. Many renewals are being returned because owners who moved within the last three years did not notify the department with their new address.
