Couple of contests
#1
There are a few contests in the area if anyone is interested. on the 5th of February in Independenc, (Independence - Elk Creek Rod and Gun) on the 12th of feb. in Dodge, (Dodge Sportsmans Club) and the 19th at the Whitehall, Pigeon Rod and Gun. Most contests start at 12 or 12:30 but you would want to be there way before that if you want any ice. All have food and drinks for sale and all are alot of fun. Good Luck to those who go.

This last weekend we went out on the river (Mississippi) to do some walleye fishing. Friday night from 9-midnight was out in the main channel didn't catch a thing. Dropped the camera down a bunch of holes seen alot of walleyes but nothing was biting still it was a gorgeous night and it was great to finally get out. Saturday was on the ice by 9 am at a local pond until 12 noon caught 1 crappie looked down the holes (no fish) so went back to the river and fished until 9 pm (1 sauger) again it was a gorgeous day made some new friends and talked to a few old friends still a great day. Sunday went to a different local pond and caught 1 bass about ohh 4 inches long. Finally at 2pm decided to call it quits and we must be in the January slump. Never had it so bad but we weren't the only ones out there with bad luck, makes a person feel a little better.

Other new is, My son is home from boot camp, he became injured in a delicate area (pelvis) spent 5 weeks trying to recuperate in San Diego and then they sent him home to try and get better with a letter of recommendation for some medical benefits. It sucks for him as he was really enjoying boot and envisioned himself as a DI someday but God's plan for him is different and maybe he will coach middle school football instead. From Mom's point of view it is relief as he won't be going to the "Sand box" but pain because of his pain. It is bitterwseet.
That is all new from this neck of the woods, how was your weekend???

How's your son's recovery coming along?

Glad to know that he's not going to war any time soon.

How's the fishing been in your parts? Panfish are starting to pick up over here.
