[#000080] Hello Everyone, [/#000080] The 2005 big lake fishing season is fast approaching. Before long the
boats will be coming out of storage. Soon everyone will come down with
a bad case of fishing fever. I suffer from fishing fever 12 months
of the year and have learned to enjoy the varied parts of our Great Lakes
Fishery, including chasing river Steelhead from October thru April.
Now is the time to gain knowledge and sharpen your catching skills!

The Flint Steelheader's Show is held in Birch Run, MI. Birch Run
is located about halfway between Flint and Saginaw on Interstate 75.
The show will be held at the Birch Run Expo Center and begins at 4pm
March 4th, 2005. The show will continue thru Sunday, 5pm March 6th, 2005.

I will be doing a one hour presentation on simplified methods when using
cut-bait. I promise no razzle-dazzle, but a "down to earth" approach
to consistent results with no hassles! My seminars are scheduled for
5pm on Saturday March 5th and 10:30am on Sunday, March the 6th.[/#000000] [#ff0000]Steelhead Report[/#ff0000] The word from the Big Manistee and Muskegon Rivers is that there are fish
for the catching, just not in big numbers. We've had at least 3 high water stages
since last November, which brought a lot of fish in early. Me, being of the theory
...there's only so many fish that are gonna show up.

So, in the long run, high water before March hurts the base of the spawning
run. I don't see any appreciable increase in numbers of river-run Steelhead
until mid-March in my crystal ball. Unless you key in on early rivers like the St. Joe.

to formulate tactics. When planning anything to do with fishing,..........
the key is to remain highly flexible. Our sport has way too many variables not to! Calm Seas, Bent Rods, Smooth Drags
