[#0000ff]The picture below is one of many huge sturgeon caught each year (and released) in the Hell's Canyon of the Snake River. There are several guides that specialize in catching these huge fish for their clients.[/#0000ff]

Man what a ride huh? Thanks for sharing that Pat.
But I'm glad their protected now. Their a living fossil. Can you imagine the age of that 1500lber when it was caught?

I was told that before I was tWinkle in papa's eye my old man use to fish for them commercially on the Columbia.

Spent a summer out on the Snake River sturgoen fishing back in 1995. One night we caught seventeen!! of them. They ranged from 3'-9' long. All were caught on pickled herring.
