April 10th. We left the dock at 2pm. Skies were clear the wind was out of the northeast 5-10 mph. Out of Milwaukee we have had east wind for the last 5 days. The water flowing into Milwaukee harbor is 58 degrees. We fished the temp break in front of the river mouth and marked fish at all depths. Our first fish was a 3-pound Brown. It came on a planer board with a small orange shad rap, we call Coho candy, with a 1/4-ounce bead chain sinker running 8 feet ahead of the lure. We picked up two more fish on this presentation and decided to try somewhere else. The main gap was loaded with perch fisherman anchored so we went to the north gap. As we moved to the north end the harbor, the water temp went from 55 to 46 degrees. The fish at the north gap came on small spoons. Silver green worked best for us running 60 feet behind the ball on downriggers 8-15 feet down. Our best boat speed was 2.2 mph. We ran dipsey divers but they did not produce a fish. The fishing was a little slow. We were back to the dock at 530pm with all Brown trout 3-5 pounds each. Good luck, Jim charters out of Milwaukee, WI.
