Dixon Lake
#1
Jed Welsh and I attended the press opener on Lake Dixon last Friday. Jed is a columnist for the Long Beach Press Telegram. We caught a few trout but didn't catch the 4-6 pound steelhead that had been planted. We did witness some that the other guys caught. They resembled exactly what I remembered the steelhead we caught on the Trinity River looked like in Northern California, maybe l little darker. Beautiful fish long and trim and much different appearing than the rainbows. They were not taking bait but those few caught bit gold castmasters. There's still lots of them in the lake. You can see them swimming in schools down the buoy line.
