WARMWATER FISHING CLINIC IN COLORADO SPRINGS
#1
[font "Arial"]The Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and Colorado Walleye Association are sponsoring a warmwater fishing seminar to teach novice anglers the basics of catching warmwater fish species.

The seminar will be held in two parts. The first part is a classroom session on May 21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the DOW office at 4255 Sinton Road in Colorado Springs. The second part will take place at Pueblo Reservoir on June 4.

“Warmwater fishing 101 is geared for beginners and those who want to learn the basics,” said Gary Dowler, a fisheries biologist with the DOW. “It’s a great opportunity for an introduction to fishing.”

Topics covered include: tackle, regulations, and basic fish biology. Techniques taught include: how to catch walleye, catfish, bass, and panfish.

Members of the Walleye Association have offered to provide boats to take the students out on Pueblo Reservoir.

The class is free, but space is limited to the first 40 people who sign up. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Fishing gear is provided by the DOW.
