Georgia Anglers Needed For Creel Survey
#1
SOCIAL CIRCLE, GA- The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is asking anglers who fish the Chattahoochee River between Morgan Falls Dam and the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area’s Paces Mill Park to participate in an creel survey that will assist DNR fisheries biologists in evaluating trout management on this section of the river. The survey began on April 3 and continues through September 2006.
Anglers leaving the river will be interviewed by a creel clerk, who will inquire about how anglers fished, how long they fished, the species they targeted and how many fish they caught. The clerk could also ask to weigh and measure any or all fish anglers harvest.
For more information on the survey, contact Chris Martin at: (770) 918-6418.
In other Georgia trout fishing news, state bi ologists have announced that they plan to stop stocking browns in the Chattahoochee between Buford Dam and Chattahoochee River Park for the next three to five years.
