[font "Times New Roman"]Rivers & streams - Trout fishing is excellent in many areas! Bait anglers are having success using worms and corn/mealworm combinations. Successful fly anglers used Pheasant Tails (#14-18), Yellow Prince Nymphs (#14-18) and Mahogany Duns (#16-18). Hendricksons (#12-14, early afternoon) were rated as “the best hatch and fishing in history” by some (anglers should note that densities will vary daily with weather conditions). The Farmington River is 52°F with clear water and excellent flows for fishing, 150 cfs at Riverton, another 100 cfs from the Still River, and an additional 50 cfs from the East Branch). Conditions on the Housatonic River (low fishing pressure and big fish) should be very good for fishing; water temperature is currently 62°F with 770 cfs of fairly clear flows out of Falls Village. Adams (#12-14) in the evening are producing. Some Blue Wing Olives are on the water with Green Caddis starting to show up. Hendrickson spinner-falls are coming to a close.
