Night fishing Lake Ontario Giant walleye 5/13-5/14
#1

Things are improving! These fish didn't care bout a little cold front. When we arrived the waves were 2-4 ft and the wind was 10-15mph+ NNW. Air temp was in the low 40 - mid - 30s. Water temps was 43-49. Within a few hours it began to settle. The fish hit from the 1st pass to the last past with only 1 or 2 slow hours. We released as many as we kept & lost that many more. Only 4 or 5 other boats spread around a HUGE harbor. Trolling as tight to the breaker walls as possible and varying your speeds constantly is very important. There are over 2 miles of breakers walls. We use F18 Raps in O/G & F/T almost exclusively. The 1/4 moon was up for 3-4 hrs between 10:30-2:00ish.
Oh and we often catch giant browns mixed in. My brother had a 14lber last night less then 100ft from me. We had several on the smallish side
