Game and Fish Seeks Comment on Wildlife Conservation Strategy
#1
The North Dakota Game and Fish Department is seeking comments on a strategic plan designed to identify and help fish and wildlife species that are in decline.

The state’s Comprehensive Wildlife Conservation Strategy contains information on species of conservation priority, threats that are causing species to decline and actions for conserving them. All 50 states are required to complete a CWCS by Oct. 1, 2005 as part of funding received through the federal State Wildlife Grants program. Funding from the SWG program is used to benefit species of greatest conservation need.

The department is encouraging land management agencies, tribal interests, nongovernmental organizations, researchers, experts and the general public to review the draft plan and provide comments.

North Dakota’s CWCS is published on the game and fish website, discovernd.com/gnf.
