[Image: 981.jpg]After a three-year closure for dam repairs, Tarryall Reservoir and State Wildlife Area will reopen for public recreation Wednesday, June 15.
The lake is full again and all boat ramps are usable but fishing will be slow. Although a few catchable-sized rainbow trout have been stocked, the fishery is being restored mostly with fingerlings which will need some time to grow.
“We appreciate the public’s understanding while Tarryall was closed, and for their continued patience while the young fish are growing,” said John Hood, Area Wildlife Manager. “Tarryall Reservoir has been known historically as a great place to fish, and we hope to be able to offer excellent fishing again in the future. It may hold a few brown trout that came down Tarryall Creek, but it will be primarily a rainbow fishery.”
