Here's a rundown of how the tourney's work.

We fish three main lakes a year ... 1 tourney a month. Jordanelle, Deer Creek & Utah Lake. They are draw tournaments by which you draw your competitor on the launch ramp that morning. The fish have to be immediately released so the tourneys are certified scale / measurement "paper" tourneys. The tournout for the events range from 3-10 boats depending on time and availability. If you are a boater ... your competitor is on the back of your boat and vice-versa for the non-boater.
It's a great time for all to be had because of the sportsmanship and care taken for each of us. It's more of a "buddy" tournament except your fish count as "your fish" You, net / weigh / measure your competitor's fish. When it's time to check-in .. circle your 5 biggest fish and the total weight decides the winners. Payouts are usually 80 / 20 / 10 with the big fish pot paying 100%.
