How about the Jazz
#1
What are they thinking?? I just heard on the radio yesterday that the Utah Jazz and mephis are talking about a trade deal which would bring that star player we once had Greg Ostertag! Are they getting that desperate for players to come here to play? I am sure they can find a tall man that can actually play some offence and some better defence.

That sure is laughable. I think Memphis would jump on the chance...heck they would probably be willing to pay to get rid of him! He's more useless than teets on a boar hog!

It makes me wonder who they are going to give mephis. They should just keep Ostertag on the bench and have open tryouts for a center. I bet they could find a tall man in this state that could match up and or even be a better player. They would even take like 250 K a yr. instead of paying Ostertag 4 Mill

"The Jazz would send forward [#990099]Curtis Borchardt[/#990099] and guards [#990099]Kirk Snyder[/#990099] and [#990099]Raul Lopez[/#990099] to Memphis, according to stories posted Friday on the Web sites of the Memphis Commercial Appeal and Sacramento Bee. "

Heres the link to the story http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-three-teamtrade&prov=ap&type=lgns

I think that it is a bad deal all around, ostertag sucked it up badly, now they are giving up 3 young players for one old fat man, they can find a much better center

[red] A lot of the problem with the Jazz, is that most players in the NBA don't want to come here to play. To a lot of them the Utah Jazz are a second rate team. I am a Jazz fan and it bothers me that we can't seem to get things together again.[/red]

[black]Unfortunately, there's no substitute for a big body in the NBA. Say what you may about Ostertag but not many back up centers in the NBA are any better than he is. He'll come here in a back up role to Okur to clog the middle, block out bodies on the boards, and set picks. He's not expected to score and won't though the year before he left, his scoring average was much better than his year in Sac. He will fit in better in Sloan's style of play in an offense more deliberate in it's execution than the run and gun style of the Kings and Grizzlies. Besides all of this, the plain and simple truth is, though, Okur is a decent scorer, he has slow feet and can't play a lick of defense.[/black]

[black]The Jazz need a veteran Point guard to tutor the new rookie. That is still their glaring weak spot. Without a seasoned leader who has a great mind for the game and knows how to use the clock, no team will go very far.[/black]

[black]Lopez is a has been and will never get past his injuries. Borchardt injury problem and will never have the body covented by NBA teams. He's about like a Shawn Bradley. Too bad about Snyder. The guy has real potential.[/black]
