Very nice, I haven't tried a spirale wrap yet, I've been thinking about doing one, maybe my next one. nicely done later chuck

I don't know if the spiral wrap is really any better than conventional, but I can state that it does NOT adversely affect casting at all. It's a bit trickier as well, since you're trying to balance a straight line path vs clearance from the blank on the transition. It helps to use the same reel for testing that will be used with the rod for fishing. Then you can check line path with line at extreme left & right sides of the spool, and spool height will be the same, too.

I like the spiral wrap mostly coz it's a little different. As you can see from my color choices & glittery finish, I don't exactly shy away from a little attention at the rail![cool]
