HELP Homing Pigeon

a homing pigion dropped in my yard today,

he cant fly,
he has the numbered tag
I have him in a cage
I gave him shelled sunflower seeds and water with a bit of sand.

I figure I have one of three options, [ol] [li]let the bird die,[/li] [li]nurce the bird back to health if posible[/li] [li]find the owner.[/li][/ol]


dose any one know of clubs who have controlled numbers for thier birds so that I may contract the owner?

any body have a what to do list incase you find a leg banned bird?

thanks, I was able to locate the owner today.

he was 27 miles north of me, and his bird lost his way days ago. which was why he was hungry and hadnt the strenth to fly.

the bird was on his first flight. a juvinile

he offered to let me keep him, but my town passed a exotic pet ban so I cant even have chickens any more..... let alone a homing pegeon....
