NW Mi grouse
#1
I scared up a few grouse this weekend in one of my first times out. Still lots of leaves (bad) but lots of berries and flowing streams (good). Flushed 4 grouse and three woodcock (good), missed all my shots but one grouse who I must of scared a bit because he never was more then 4 foot off the ground on any of the flushes I set him to.
Salmon fishermen are still reeling them in but not as plentiful as in the mid summer months.

How did jr. do ?
I'm birdless so far , a little rusty i guess .
Plenty of grouse flushed with only a few shots fired , not one woodcock to be seen . I reload and I think the powder is too old to be usefull , that or I'm shooting too low .
I haven't seen one pheasent since spring .

Junior decided that laughing at the older guy miss so many times was more fruitful then shooting at the flushed fowl. Anytime in the woods with him is better then any other time-even if we don't get a lot of shots off.
