I back tracked a little and decided to give a couple people the feild goal point for finding my mistakes on this pool before flagmanonice got me thinking on how to give extra points.

I am sure there are other mistakes some where in the pool so have fun with it.

the lions must be contagous....

as bad as the lions play there are still other teams with lower standings.... I wonder if they are paying the lions for lessons. I know the lions needed a little extra cash for that new stadium they just built. I didnt think they would stoop to giving loosin lessons.... LOL..[sly]

I keep lookin for a reason to gripe about the lions... been doin it now for 30 years, they havent let me down yet, the season is early yet I am sure they can make it back to last place again... at least they got to play in the superbowl stadium this year.... LOL

but seriously, Indianapolis, Tampa Bay, Cincinnati and Washington are looking good this year. not to mention the dallas cow boy cheer leaders and the Tampa Bay Buckaroos.[]

I am still rootin for Tennessee but unless they turn thier game around soon I think I might start lookin at Indianapolis as a super bowl contender for the year any one else have any thoughs at this stage of the game?...

Heres an Idea, why don't you give a point to the person that don't have the time to look for mistakes, the one that has just enough time to get his picks In, the one that used to think this was fun (picking football games) I really love this site and this game we play, I'll continue to do so, but I felt I needed to voice my opinion.

I had the same veiw as you about not giving extra points untill my mistakes kept rolling in every week.

the only extra point I give is for information, nothing else... not even spelling....LOL

on the up side you have a two point better score because some one pointed out the mistakes I made on your tally...

it is for everyone's benifit that I give an extra point if they can find my mistakes, I need some one to double check my work, this pool is a lot of work. they dont count on the weekly score only the year end score for weekly winners.

I feel all points should be earned by picking the correct teams. Giving extra points eliminates the fairness of the game. I received
1 extra point and that has placed me in first place when in reality I
should be tied for first. This is unfair to the person in second place.

Wasnt that quite the game. The astros have had good opportunities to win all 3 games so far and they let them slip late in the game. I want the white sox to win anyways, but i thought that the astros would win at least one game.

[size 1]As December rolls upon us and there is that feeling of Christmas cheer, it was very evident from the action in Week #12 that ... you guessed it ... playoff time is getting near! With that being said, lets begin in Dallas where Ron Dayne and the Broncos stufffed the Cowboys in overtime 24-21, while in Seattle, three missed field goals by Jay Feely allowed the Seahawks to win a thriller in overtime over the Giants 24-21. The Panthers took over sole possesion of the NFC South by downing the Bills 13-9, while the Bengals used a fast start to whip the Ravens 42-29 and take control of the AFC North. Priest who??? Larry Johnson rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown as the Chiefs beat up on the tattered Patriots 26-16, while in Washington, the Chargers kept their playoff hopes alive by overcoming a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to knock off the Redskins in overtime 23-17. The Bears notched their seventh straight victory and maintained their two game lead in the NFC North as they held off the Buccaneers 13-10, while the Vikings kept their playoff hopes alive winning in ugly fashion over the Browns 24-12. The Jaguars lost Byron Leftwich for at least the next month, but as usual took care of business, as they clipped the Cardinals 24-17, while the Rams knocked off the Texans 33-27 behind rookie quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, as they scored 10 points in the final 30 seconds of the game to force overtime. Finally, in the Monday Night finale, the Colts kept their magical season alive improving to 11-0 as they steam rolled past the Steelers 26-7.

Thanksgiving Day, a Detroit Lion Football game, a cause for a great holiday celebration ... Right? ... Wrong!!! Instead what happened was a 27-7 Thanksgiving Day Massacre, a firing, and a a team left in total disarray with five weeks left in the season. As far as Coach Mariucci goes, lets be honest. Matt Millen needed a scapegoat for his own inabilities, and who better than a coach whose team just got annihilated on Thanksgiving Day and whose team's record fell to a dismal 4-7. Oh! and for the record, lets call this for what it was, a "FIRING", rather than, how did Mr. Millen put it, "We are relieving him of his duties." Please!!! So Detroit faithfuls, as our Lions prepare for the Vikings, and we are left to sit and ponder over what went wrong this year, the question we may have to ask ourselves is after 5 years and a 20-55 record, "Why the heck is Matt Millen still here?"
