alligator gars

I remember about ten years ago my brother in law wanted to show me those big bass fishing by wadeing in the back waters. He told me to watch those alligator gars that are around where we were after the bass. I saw two of them mating and I tapped my rod on one of their backs and boy the water exploded! They did scared me good! They would dart away high speed and then jump the others around. Looked like the plane was dropping bombs on us! Those fish were over six feet long! My brother in law didn't wanted me doing it as it mess up the fishing but I just find that so much fun to watch. You can get up close to them and pat them.

That sounds like it would be a blast! But why would you want to go fishing for bass when you can go fishing for Alligator Gar?
