Help Track Down Pennsylvania Smallmouth Poachers
#1
HARRISBURG, PA— The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (FBC) needs your help to investigate a poaching incident that occurred in Perry County earlier this month.

Sometime over the Veteran's Day holiday weekend, a person or persons illegally killed and filleted nearly 100 smallmouth bass then dumped the carcasses along the banks of the Susquehanna River. The bass ranged in size from 11 to 17 inches; the FBC says the adjacent section of the Susquehanna River is managed under special regulations that require bass to be a minimum of 18 inches to be legally harvested at this time of year.

The FBC is looking for information that would help identify and apprehend the responsible person or persons. Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact the FBC's Southcentral Region Bureau of Law Enforcement at: (717) 486-7087, or e-mail FBC Regional Law Enforcement Manager Donald Lauver at: dolauver@state.pa.us. All leads will be confidential.
