Sheridan Lake 14 Jan 05
#1
Well, we made it up to Deerfield this morning about 9:00. The wind was blowing pretty good and I didnt want to drag the kids out there with no shelter so we decided to bail and head back down to Sheridan. The ice at Deerfield was plenty thick and snow covered, we saw lots of pick ups on the ice. Wasnt sure it was thick enough to hold my 8500 pound SUV though.

Sheridan was a dead all day. We went to the south boat launch and there was a solid 10" inches of very slick ice. Punched about 25-30 holes with my hand auger trying to find some hungry fish. Nothin doin, didnt feel too bad though because no one else I could see was killin them either. It was a great day for fishing, 55 degrees and sun shining. Felt good to get the family back out for the first time over a year.

We drove by Pactola on the way home and it is about 50% open water and I didnt see any recent signs of anybody fishing the half that was froze.
