THE FOUNDATION A Breath of Fresh Air
Today’s young people face challenges far beyond what we could have imagined would await them. In a world that’s moving faster than they can keep pace, one of sound bytes and instant information, many also find themselves trapped in difficult economic or social situations that make a simple outing impossible.
The Daniel Hernandez Youth Foundation wants to change this. We’re tackling the needs of deserving youth by offering them an invitation they may never otherwise receive: “Let’s go fishing!”
To many of us, the idea of a day fishing on the ocean or in a quiet lake may seem commonplace. But to divantaged and inner city youth, this is like a breath of fresh air. A chance to escape their stressful lives for just a moment, while enjoying the educational and sporting benefits fishing offers. Become A Volunteer
Learning and Laughter
Fishing is a unique activity-it offers tremendous enjoyment, while presenting outstanding learning & leadership opportunities for the children.
Our programs provide an ideal balance between learning and laughter. Together, these elements form a very powerful platform to positively impact the lives of deserving children.

The Daniel Hernandez Youth Foundation is dedicated to the health and wellbeing of high-risk inner-city youth from our underserved communities. We want to make a difference in all children's lives by offering them access to health care and quality health care coverage. The Youth Foundation wants to offer all Californians a tool to help navigate public and private health care options for children and their families. If you or someone you know is uninsured, please use the following materials or call the California Uninsured Help Line at 800-234-1317 and help us build a healthier community.
