Cliff fishing at Pt. Mugu's RockPile
#1
[Smile]great surf & cliff fishing,on saturday. It was like the first Day of Summer. We found a isolated school of topsmelt, that kept us lite liners busy all day with every bait up.These fish were "Not" your pinhead type surfers, these Monstrosities were up to 2 feet.Nothing smaller than 1 1/2 foot.Great fun for screwin"around.I began to notice that our little fish friends were holding hard at this location, due to a pod of porposise hunting outside the kelp break, and thru the Magic of Polarized lenses, there they were!!!Roaming in Low Tide,Black Sea Basses in 10-to-12ft. of water, the largest a easy 100 pounder, and several others 50lb.-to-70lb's..A clear indication of what thier eating habits are...So with that in mind,we left at dark,to re-groupe,and battle plan for Sunday,Today....Skunk...Skunk....Skunk....That was A BIG BRIGHT FULL MOON Saturday Nite,And the Big Guys Must of Had The Same Battle Plans As Us,But THEY WON,and they were gone, and the smelt too,Boy those Guys are Sure Good !!!maybe it's the Black Swimsuits they wear?[:|]
