An American Icon has crumbled to the wind.

Sad Sad Day for Winchester

I saw on the news today that Winchester that once employed a couple thousand people now only employs less than a couple hundred will now be made in another country, (Belgum)

not that I am against belgum guns, they produce exemplary work.

I just hate seeing what is another traditional american Icon leaving our shores.

It was an atrosity to have 1800 employs lost to automation in winchesters factories, now we loose the whole industry all together.

so if you got-em hold on to them,

John wayne will be rolling over on his grits in his grave.

Smith&wesson where due to tour the plant last week, but I think they may only be there for the machines they could buy. Seemed like yesterday when colt went out. We still have others[Mossberg ect.] and smaller guys, but the history of these shops is now that, History. The workers did take pay cuts and anything else they could do to keep it open. [unsure]
