Stocking?
#1
are any of the bigger reservoirs ever stocked with anything or do they just let nature take its course? Like Pineview, Causey, rock port and the rest in the general location?

Teroy, Utah Fish Finders has a planting report section. All of the planting reports are fairly old, I don't know how often they update it. Here is the address http://www.utahfishfinder.com/stocking.shtml

Pineview they plant Muskie as they don't naturally reproduce. Causey they plant Rainbow and Splake. Rockport they plant Rainbow as well.

The Standard Examiner said they planted 50,000 trout in Echo about 2-3 months ago.

I got a email from Tom something that had told me they put Tiger Trout in rockport. Has anyone ever caught a Tiger Trout out of Rockport?

I checked the DNR website and it made no mention of Tigers in Rockport. Further more it would make no sense what so ever to put Tigers in a lake that already has a sizeable population of Rainbows, Perch and Smallmouth and a limited prey base. They would also have the potetial to move up the Weber thereby competing with the "native" population of Cutts and Browns. SInce Tigers do not reprodce naturally (except in one river basin in Montana where they do occur in nature) they are used as a put and take fishery in lakes that generally don't have viable native trout fisheries. But, I'm an aircraft mechanic not a biologist, and I don't them working on planes so I won't tell them what to do.
