Lake Powell Report
#1
Fished Powell May 6 through 12. Eleven of us stayed on a houseboat I have a share in. Fished around Bullfrog Bay and Iceberg canyon. Fishing was great, with everyone catching something, be it Smallmouth, Lg Mouth, Crappie, Walleye. We caught a lot more Large Mouth and Crappie, as predicted by Wayne Gustaveson, and generally had a good time. Used standard Bass baits, Jig heads with Yamamoto grubs, etc.. Picture of a nice Smallmouth attached. Good Luck.

Thanks for posting your report, sounds like you guys had a fun trip. No one caught any stripers?

[Smile]Sorry for not responding sooner. We caught a few Stripers, when fishing for the other species. We usually don't target the Stripers by locating and then vertical jigging or trolling through them. Also, I have'nt seen a "boil" this time of year. Since they have had adequate feed with the shad population, they are a little harder to catch.
Kent, thats my lucky fishing hat, and the only "right" one I know of. TIC
