By the By.. One of the family of trigger fish is the Hawaii State Fish..... it's the colorful one, the Humuhumunukunukuapuaa. You know, the one that goes swimming by that little grass shack?
We have lots of "Humu Humu" here in Hawaii. The skin is tough enough to dull a good knife, but they are really good eating if you can clean them. LOL
We shore fish a lot from rocky cliffs and the Humu can be a real pain when your using chum and trying to catch more desirable fish. Solution, just toss some popcorn in the water and as it floats away in the wind the whole school of trigger fish follow it. Gives you time to catch a few other fish before the school returns.
Aloha,
Stan
