Lake St Clair Muskie Report
#1
As most fishermen-women are unaware of Lake St Clair without question is the top producer of muskies in the U.S. Especially muskie in the 30lbs+ range. Recent reports confirm that the fishing has been slow this year. High water, and freqeunt heavy storms had kept access to these great freshwater trophy's down.Trips were averaging 6 fish per trip with only an occassional bruiser in there, but mild weather in late July and August has changed that. One of my Captains has reported the last week of July first two weeks of August his boat has caught more 30 pounders than all his previous years. Generally in Lake St Clair as summer turns to fall the number of fish caught give way to size and quality of fish. A day on Lake St Clair can average from 4 fish to a dozen with as many as 30 having been boated in one day. So if you want to catch a muskie especially one for the wall, hands down there is no better place to do it than Lake St Clair!
