Dove and Jack hunting.... 9/4
#1
Hookjaw Brimhall and I headed out in the AM on the 4th. He wanted to get into a few doves. I brought the .22 out to see if I could kill a few jacks.

He had hunted the opener in this area and had taken home a limit... But it was not to be a repeat. We saw quite a few doves, but most were out of range. He ended up only taking 2 shots, missed both. If he would have hit them they would have been great shots because the birds were "almost" out of range.

We saw quite a few jacks. I ended up killing 3 and at least wounding another in about 2 hours. Those suckers are hard to hit as they run between patches of sage brush at 50 yards going 9000 MPH... LOL

Sounds like fun. I can't wait for snow for the jacks.
