Report from Rivers End Tackle
#1
UPDATED BY PAT ON FRIDAY, November
3rd, 2006
I'll be away chasing bonefish next week so there won't be another
report until
November 17th. The shop will be open, call for the latest
information.
STRIPED BASS- Its been sliding downhill locally since last weekends
storm. Plum Gut has the strongest run of bass, the blues have thinned out
there making it easier to reach the bass. Drifted bucktails are the
best bet. Niantic is the best local spot from shore and Harkness is
picking up. The River is still pretty dirty today and the bunker have
disappeared from it. The forecast for the next few days is for mild northerly
wind and that should clean up things shortly.

BLUEFISH- They're gone from the River but they're still running along
the shoreline and they're big. I suspect they'll be back on Long Sand
Shoal when the waters clean up. Theres still blues at the Race and Plum
Gut but they seem to be thinning out .

PORGIES- Season is closed

BLACKFISH- Go east. They've slowed way down from Black Point and west
but its still very good from the mouth of the Thames and east. The
Fishers Island Rockpiles have had some of the best action. Again I think
things will pick up locally when the water cleans up a bit.

BONEFISH- We have a few openings on one of our February, 2007 trips to
Acklins Island. Call me if you'd like to find out more.

HOURS- Monday -Friday 6am to 6pm
Saturday 6am to 5pm
Sunday 6am to 4pm
