Striper tournaments
#1
Does anyone have any info on amatuer fishing tournaments. I am looking for amatuer tournaments for Lake Mead, Havasu, or Mojave. Stripers and or Bass tournaments. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I have never been in a tournament before, but I would love to give it a go.

Hey there TDOG! Just for info, tournament fishing is an awesome experiance. It's not just a chance to make a few bucks or win a prize; it's a great opportunity to test your angling skills against local pro's, meet other anglers and share information, and enter into a competetive enviroment that increases the excitement and experiance of fishing itself. Not to mention there is usually some great food and frosty beverages at the end of the day. [cool]

As far as your local area, i'll do a little research and see if I can't find a little sumthin sumthin in your area. It would be great apon the finding of a tournament for you if you could keep us posted on your progress. Make sure and take pictures.[cool] We as BFT members take pride in supporting our fellow anglers on the hunt for the tournament trail; even those just looking for the occasional sporty challenge. I'll post my findings for you as soon as possible!

Here's a few listings, however, looks like they're all out of date. Let me dig a little deeper.

Check this out as well:

These guys can give you loads of info in regards to tournaments, rules, and regulations. Also, if you have a local chamber of commerce, they are a good source of information.

Something that I would also do is look up your local bass clubs and nevada chapter area tours and find out what it takes to become a member. You may come to find that you have to be a member of a particular club in order to participate in an event; especially in regards to a fish like Striper.

With all do respect to Lake Mead and its excellent fishery, it's not been reconized by the US as a premier Striper fishing hot spot. For that area, i'm sure it's about as good as it gets, but definately not in the US. Major sanctioned tournaments and events are held where the big dawgs are prominent. A 40 Striper is very common on the east coast off of the NC beaches and in the rivers of Santee Cooper. Infact, we have a Striper Tournament pro on BFT. I'll see if I can round up his log on name, I can't remember off the top of my head. The upside is that Lake Mead IS a nationally known hot spot for Large mouth bass, and finding a tourney up your alley shouldn't be an issue at all. I'll do some more research on the local bass clubs and sponsors to see if I can find one suited for you. Something easy, cheap or free, and hospitable. [cool]

Well bro, I do my best. What alot of the BFT members and even the surfers that don't join don't realize, is that this is one of the best resources availible to any angler. The bulk of our moderators are highly skilled anglers with unlimited resources and the team goal of spreading info and helping our fellow fishermen and women. My goal is genuine, I love fishing and helping other anglers.

The appreciation is much appreciated!!!!!!! That's what makes it worth while, helping my boys out. [cool]
