Fishing Along the Kankakee...December 17th
#1
Went down to Horseshoe Bend on the Kankakee River today with my friend Tim and his daughter Cassie...

We were fishing for crappies with a 1/32 oz. marabou jig under a float tipped with minnows, since there was no wind, we were casting them out and retrieving them back in as slow as we could, while still keeping the baits in motion...this was quite effective for us.

Here's Cassie with a little crappie...

Cassie was having a great time and became the official minnow tamer, taking control of the minnow bucket and even telling us the names of the minnows she dispensed to us...I had my best luck with Richard a fiesty fat minnow...here's the fish I took with Richard(the minnow that Cassie named and dispensed):

Tim and I managed to put a good number of crappies in the basket along with a dandy rock bass that Cassie caught.

...all in all, another great afternoon down by the Kankakee!
