Both, but when I travel i am usually confined to the shore. Would like to try to get out sometime to fish the oil rigs, any experience with that?

my brother worked on them for about 15 years, its hard to get bait up on the platforms, and pulling your fish up is imposible, cant get a net down that far.

You are talking about the rigs out in the golf right?

Yes. It seems that about every book I read about saltwater fishing has a whole chapter on fishing around oil rigs in the gulf. Amberjacks, grouper, snapper, even tuna.

fish do like structure natural or artificial, it gives them a sence of home and protectioin.

you will need a boat... those platforms are a long way up from the water level...
