you need to get a hold of your local office. It could be your township office or county office of records.

if you are driving you dont need one just yet, but if your flying as of this week you must have one to get back in. dosnt matter from where.

I checked with my local office and it takes 30 days for it to be aproved. You must be free of any fellonies in your history before one can be issued. It may be different in your town or county...

so if you are planning to go at any time, go ahead and get er done. then it wont be an issue ever again, just so long as you mind your pints and quarts.....

I am asuming you want to go from the states to mexico...

Here's some firsthand passport info.

I filled out the forms online here:

https://pptform2.state.gov/DS11/MainDS11.aspx

Then last friday I went to Wallgreens and had the 2 needed photos taken $7.99

From Wallgreens I went to the post office near my house, make sure it has a passport office.

(Find one here: http://iafdb.travel.state.gov/)

at that time I paid for the passport with expedited fees and postage about $180.00.

The Mailman rang my doorbell this past Friday with my new passport.
7 days total.

I'm in Southern Nevada, and the passport came from Los Angeles, so depending on where you are, and where the passport office is your time may be different by a few days.

overall I thought it was an example of excellent preformance by a govermental agency.

My tax dollars at work.

I can now again fly in to kill fish in Mexico!

I'll be in Zihua in a few weeks and let you guys how I do.
