What do BBQ Ribs and Fishing Experts have in common?
#1
They'll both be here ...

Albackore is announcing our new [url "http://albackore.com/symposium/"][#000000]Symposium Series[/#000000][/url] starting this year. All of the symposiums will be held at the Newport Rib Company in Costa Mesa and will include a BBQ Rib Dinner as part of the registration package. This is a new format for a tackle seminar, so I'm looking for feedback from everyone!

For our [url "http://albackore.com/symposium/"][#000000]"Early Season" Symposium[/#000000][/url], we've got a excellent lineup of inshore and offshore experts, some great food, and a $25 goodie bag for everyone! Lot of raffle prizes from Candy Catchers, Rapala, and more!

Hey troutman,

Thanks for the heads up. That sounds like a great program, and the ribbs look pretty tastey too.

I just went to the Marshall Marine Fishing Expo here in Lake City, SC. They had all the fried catfish and wild game you could, all for free. I'm attending the SWS seminar series in Wilmington, NC on Feb 3rd.

I wish I were near that location, i'd love to go to that one as well. Thanks for the info partner, i'll spread the word to some of our Cali members. This might also be a good post for the Cali board. [cool]

Thanks for the heads up troutman. Did you think about posting this on the Cali board too? I think it would be a good idea.

Please feel free to post it there. I may even head down there and meet up with you if you think that you might be going.[cool]

Hey tubn2,

Are you going to that SWS seminar? I never heard anything from you about it. It's suppose to be really cool. Here's a link to check it out if you haven't already:

I'd be curious to see the differences in the two seminars based on location. George is going, but the pro's are different depending on the area, and most of them are locals tournament anglers. [cool]

I havent received my tickets yet. I hope they get here soon.

I don't think that the Albakore shindig will be nearly as big as the SWS. The SWS won't be nearly as big as the Fred Hall Show. The Fred Hall Show last for 5 days.

It would be nice to get to all three events. I can always use a few more pieces in my collection. ha ha.[cool]

I haven't gotten my tickets yet either. I actually ordered my tickets from Ms. Povoramo herself, LOL, kinda funny. But she told me that when you buy the tickets, you're put into the computer, so we'll be good to go regardless. I also had them fax me a reciept, which i'll be taking with me to the door just incase. (especially if I don't get my tickets before hand)

You can actually buy the tickets at the door, but there's a chance that they can get sold out, so I prefered to just go ahead and order them. Yours will probably have a bigger chance of getting sold out than the one i'm going to.

I'm just hoping to pick up a few new tricks. I'm going to buy a digital recorder before I go so I can take notes, without taking notes, if someone starts talking about something i'm really interested in.

I'm actually about 2 hours or so from where the seminar is. I've got a buddy that lives in South Port, NC and has invited me to stay that friday night there before the seminar. He bought a ticket too and is going. It will be the first time myself and my oldest son have left the old lady for that long. LOL, it should be interesting. It's going to be fun though. Kinda like a little field trip. We get a good, home cooked meal at my friends house, and off we go the next morning to meet George Povoramo and his cronies. Then, the superbowl the following day. This will prove to be the weekend from hell for my wife. [laugh]
