Nashville Competitors Brave Cold and Snow for Tennessee State Casting Championships
#1
[size 1]Nashville, TN - Cold weather and snow didn't stop participants from taking part in the 3rd Annual Bass Pro Shops Tennessee State Casting Championships held in Nashville, TN. this past weekend. As a matter of fact, some of the highest score ever were recorded despite temperatures in the low 30's. 9yr. old Alex Haffner of Murfreesburo, TN. took home bragging rights and the title "Tennessee State Youth Champion" (age 0 - 10). The Tennessee State Jr. Champion (age 11 - 16) went to 15yr. old Clay Willis of Henderson, KY. Coming back to defend his title in the Adult Division and to take home his second consecutive TN. State Championship was Rusty Rust of Mt. Juliet, TN.

"The competition was really tough this year" said Andy Afflick, creator and producer of the ParFishing Casting Challenge. "The kids that come to this event get better every year. This is the first year that several kids actually scored higher than some of the adults. This is a great indicator that what we are doing is working, and that's putting a rod and reel back into the hands of America and getting kids and adults involved in the sport of fishing."

The ParFishing Casting Challenge is a free event for all ages held all across the country promoting family outdoor entertainment and the sport of fishing.
