[size 1]On February 26, ASA convened a meeting, along with 11 other national fishery organizations, with William Fehrman, president of PacifiCorp Energy, to discuss the removal of the four lower dams along the Klamath River. Over the past few years, the decline in the salmon populations in the Klamath River has had severe impacts on the commercial and recreational fisheries of California and Oregon. ASA and the 11 other fishery organizations maintain that the removal of the dams is the best resolution for the future health of the Klamath River and can be accomplished in a way that is fair to PacifiCorp.
