Daiwa Millionaire M-6HS
#1
Hi All, This my first post here. I just recently aquired some old tackle and one of the items is a brand new, in the original package, Daiwa Millionaire M6HS bait casting reel. This thing is a work of art, looks quite expensive, probably from the 60's or the 70's. Just wondering what it is worth.

And is this the right forum to ask this question? Are there any other forums I should be going to?
Thanks

Hi Testy, and welcome to the BFT message boards! This question will be just fine on this board, just so you know.

Now as for the reel, they are very good reels. They rank right around the same quality of a mid grade abu garcia. Probably about an 80 dollar reel, just guessing off the top of my head. I'm sure someone will jump in anytime with an exact figure.

I had a Diawa like that a few years ago that I used for flounder fishing. Someone stole it and I never ended up getting another one. There aren't too many reels that are as smooth as the millionaire series reels. You've got a good catch there partner. [cool]

hey, first off... welcome to BFT! sounds like you have gotten ahold of a great reel! as far as value goes, id recommend posting on the fishing tackle forum and see what the guys over there think!

there is also the fishing tackle auction board if you want to try to auction it on ebay...

http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/gforum/gforum.cgi?forum=102;

then, we also have the buy, sell, trade tackle forum if you just want to sell it at a set price...

Lots of options here at BFT! but, my suggestion is to keep the reel and fish it to death!!!

again, welcome aboard!

Welcome aboard Testy. Thank you for your question.

I just recently purchased one of those (used) in a tackle shop. I paid 40 buck for it and it was in tip top shape. Mine happened to be with the crank on the left which I prefer for top water exploding action. Otherwise I crant with my right hand for all other baitcasting applications.

I love the real. I have it set so that I can cast a 3" Yamamoto worm over 120 feet. It is very nice.[cool]
