IN GENERAL: Earlier in the week the John Gallo group had fair-to-good action

on good-sized dorado up toward Punta Pescadero. Marlin are still being found

throughout Palmas Bay with the best action down to the south off of Cabo

Pulmo and Las Frailes. Back inshore, the sierra dominated the catch with a

few roosters and jacks showing up as well.

The Fred Hall Show in Long Beach and a program for the Santa Barbara Fly

Fishers are history for us. At the Hall Show, we had the opportunity to see

lots of old friends and make some new ones. Lots of new things happening for

Baja on the Fly including new destinations, more writing assignments and

club presentations which we will fill you in on later. At Santa Barbara, we

had a great time with the Santa Barbara Fly Fishers and we can’t thank Mike

Moropolis enough for arranging the whole program for us. This morning we are

headed for our last stop at the Fly-Fishing Show at Ontario (Calif.) and

then back to Escondido to sort out everything that was accomplished this

week on the road.

· INSHORE: Early morning for sierra is the best bet.

· BEACH: Wind waves for the last few days really chopped up the beach.

We

hope things will calm down this week.

IN GENERAL: The halibut bite continues out on the north side of Punta

Belcher. Plenty of spotted bay bass strung out along the rock structure from

Punta Belcher to the entrada. Up at Devil’s Curve the jacks went wild this

week and mixed in were a few snapper and grouper. The corvina has also

reappeared after a couple of week's absence. The dorado found earlier in the
