Brownlee Resevoir??
#1
First time posting on your Oregon board as i need some help on fishing Brownlee. I live in Wyoming and will be up in Astoria fishing for sturgeon over the Mem week and would like to stop on the way back home and fish Brownlee. I have heard it is a great place for cats, crappie and SM bass. I know it is on the border so does a Oregon fish license work for this lake? Maybe just in the northern section? I will have a boat so that won't be a problem. Any help and advice would be appreciated!!
Thanks, MM

Hello mad max. This is what i found out and a recent report.
Powder River Arm from mouth upstream to Huntington-Richland Road Bridge requires an Oregon upstream to angling license.Bass, 12-inch minimum length. . BROWNLEE RESERVOIR: Crappie fishing has been good especailly at night. Bass fishing has been good and the fish are large. Perch and bluegill are being caught by boat and from shore. Use worms, jigs with crappie nibbles or cutbait. A few catfish are being picked up as well. The reservoir is rising and is at 10 feet below normal. Call Idaho Power Company’s recording at 1-800-422-3143 to get information on access at recreational sites or visit www.idahopower.com under the “Rivers and Recreation” heading. I will be fishing Brownlee and Oxbow the week following Memorial Weekend. I spoke to the guide yesterday about the SMB spawn on both lakes. He says it's still about two weeks out so we should be right in the middle of some great fishing on both reservoirs. We fished both last September and had a great time. We are from Utah and it is now one of our "got to go" places for SMB fishing. We are open for any other suggestions on where to go to fish for SMB.

Good Luck

thanks for the info.....sounds like a good place to go. we will probably be there around Thursday or friday after Mem day. Do you know if there is a boat ramp at Richland in the Powder river arm??
That doesn't look to far off the path.
thanks,
MM
