I once tried to build a boat out of plywood and dock styrofoam. It floated quite well but it leaked like a minnow bucket and drove like a submarine. All in all it was quite fun to try but it hurts when you hit water with your face. So this year I shall try again, I have designed a new plan for my little baot and can hardly wait to get at it! Has anyone out there ever built their own wooden baot and are there any pointers for me?

My brother started to build one out of scrap wood in the yard when we both lived with our parents still. It was proving to be a fun project but we gave up when we didn't even have a floor in it and it was already weighing close to 200 lbs!
He still wants to build one. I think I'll join him. But this time I'm thinkin' let's find aluminum!
