tips on rus-free hooks.
#1
All of us salty buggers know of the effects that brine has on anything even remotely metal. To avoid having to change hooks after every couple of fishing trips, I use a generous portion of baby powder in those compartments reserved for hooks in my fishing kit. The powder has the same effect on the hooks as it does on a baby's butt, it absorbs all the moisture which is a major factor in the formation of rust. I also use a black felt-tip marker on the hook tips which show signs of rust. This forms a barrier between the hook and the elements of rust without drastically changing the appearance of the hook.
