I know of only one true surf fishing rod, that is the Ballyhoo made and sold exclusivly in our island state.
you can order one on line. it has a handle that is nearly 3-4 feet long that can be pushed in to the sand. [signature]

Welcome to BigFishTackle.
What area do you fish in? Some areas have easier surf and some have a harsher environment. I live in So. California. Some areas I am fine with a 10 foot rod and others, I prefer a 13 or even 16 foot rod. [signature]

As far as spinning rods go I would suggest the Okuma SS-C-1202MH-1 surf rod. It is a 2 piece 12foot rod. Good from 12 to 20lb line and 3 to 6oz weights.
Or you could go a little cheaper with the Diawa Beefstick S1202MHRS. It has pretty much the same specs but 1 less guide. It has only 6 guides as compared to the Okuma model which has 7. You do get better weight distribution over the rod with more guides.[cool] Do you need a good reel to go with that?? Okuma Coronado CD90 would make a good match.[] [signature] |
