Pineview and a 40" Tiger
#1
[black] [/black]Launched at 6 am with Flycasting and his father. A beautiful calm morning. Tylers dad started off the action missing a big tiger right off the bat. Uneducated topwater feeder.[Wink] We fished down toward NF and had quite a few takers but only a couple bass to show for it. Some nice ones also. FC Sr. lost a huge smallie right at the boat that was probably atleast 19" and 5#! I had some major rod and line issues so i missed plenty of fish. I did manage some good smallies later on and missed and lost plenty of tigers.[pirate]
After that run we headed to Spring cove and i nailed a very nice smallie and missed some other fish. We ended up with 3 or 4 nice largies before we decided to give up on tigers and try for smallies.
We headed down to the narrows and started throwing various plastics and Tyler was pounding the dink smallies. I caught a decent one and fc Sr. caught a few too. By this time it was about 11:30 and tyler said they had a family get-together to attend. We were deep inside the wakeless bouies so i tied on a j-13 brown trout told them to troll it to the bouies. I watched as 60' of line went out and then i turned around. As soon as the reel engaged a 40" tiger was on the other end! FC Sr. fought the "weak" fish up to within the 20' of the boat and then we realised it was a biggun and the fish realised he was hooked. Fight on! Thrashing, splashing and finally a slam dunk into the net. It made my whole day as the reason i was there was to get Fc Sr. a tiger and it was mission accomplished. Had a great time with you guys this morning and look forward to more fun trips. Pics to follow.
P.S. i Can't for the life of me remember your dad's name.[mad]

Your pike, musky, and walleye board moderator.

It's gettin close! Can you smell the nervousness in the air? Hunting season is upon us. Time to switch rods for guns.

You are so very welcome. It always gets me pumped when someone gets a tiger in the boat, especially if it is someone who has not caught one or very many. A toad like that one is a life memory.
