Shimano vs Accurate?
#1
Looking at the ultimate 12-15 pound class reel for big dorado here in Japan, usually flylining sardines. Caught a 40 pounder last year on a small Japanese version of the Trinidad (no clicker, but has a switch to turn the reel into a one-way winch that will give no drag). Thinking about the Boss 197, but not sure. Which is the better reel, the Boss 197, or the Trinidad 12? Thanks guys!!!

Mr. Philr21:

I am just curious. I have never been to Japan and it would be pretty cool to check out some fishing photos you might have available. Any information and photos would be appreciated.

Booyaa To Ya'!
http://www.fishingclothes.com
Romero

I have two websites. One finished at http://members.nbci.com/PhilRichmond, but doesn't have many pics of Japan. The other is http://www.bosotsuri.f2s.com/main.htm I live really close to Yokohama, and always go trout fishing in Hakone. I caught two four pound rainbows there this year. LOTS of ocean fishing to be done here, went today before work. Suzuki seabass, yellowtail, and kurodai (black sea bream?) are my targets off base right now. Phil I only live about 20 minutes from Yokohama.

E-mailed accurate and told them what happened. One of the owners of the company called my house here in Japan at 2am! Asked what the problem was and stated they'd repair it no problem. Maybe their customer service has gotten better?

Since the reel is new, they'll upgrade it. But they want $50 to do it. Was impressed by the phone call nonetheless though. They didn't know where they were calling, I listed my FPO/AP CA address on the site, so don't blame them for the time. 17 hour time difference from CA. Hey Dan, I was just in Hawaii. I caught a hammerhead from the pier in Hickam that was 7'4" head to tail, and a tiger that was 6'6" and 12" accross. Any idea how much these sharks weighed? Saw a thing online, but it uses fork length, and I measured total. Thanks.
