After an almost three week hiatus, I finally got to fish again ... with my new (previously used) Curado Bantam. Beautiful reel, BTW.
Since we are moving back to Manhattan, I decided to give Harlem Meer a go to see what it's all about. Since I was not expecting to catch anything major, I declined to take my camera along with me ... and for once I was right - however!
I did manage to catch one dink of perhaps 13" on a junebug Yamasenko and have one take but only to drop it.
At the (boat house?) there were three fly fisher people. Two guys and one hot chick. She popped a bluegill and while she was fighting it, a huge bass came out from near the willow tree and gulped it down!! I watched her fight this bass on a 3# for about five minutes before she landed it. AWESOME! It broke surface at least a dozen times. They had no scale so I offered mine up - 6lb 3oz and 23" !!! HOLY CRAP! In that dinky little city pond, who woulda thought....
